I hadn't originally wanted to do wood because I live in a world where REAL wood counters are lovely but often impractical. I forget sometimes that my sims don't have the same concerns.

Hehe, yeah it does lol. But nice ! That wood evens the kitchen out so much smile. And indeed, with the sims no need for useage problems just plop on there what you like. Though a bit of realism that way can be nice.

So here's my entry:
This is Angela 'Angie' Stanley, she is currently studying English at Sim State University. She dreams of being a best-selling author, just like her mentor, Henry Harvey who died 2 years previous. But for now she lives in a rented bungalow on Horizon Island:
Angie's favourite colour is pale blue, which influences a lot in this design, and white. She chose calm colours so when she writes the calmness can inspire her novels.

The kitchen has quite modern cabinets with stained wood surfaces, also it has a pearly white retro coffee maker which Angie picked up at a garage sale.

Tucked away in the corner, divided by sheer curtains, is her writing nook. This is where the magic happens, (or where she hopes it does giggle )

And'll I'll leave you with a layout:

I'm know getting more confident about sharing pictures and entering compititions Azn Smilie
So what do you think? heidy

RE: Culinary Craft [Now with a participation gift]
I'm bored by playing TS3 and I thought why not entering a competition? I found this forum, registered and here I am!

So here's my very first entry for a challenge:

I wanted the kitchen to look used and kinda urban. The Sim I made this kitchen for is called Paula Watson, she's an student and just moved from her parent's house to the city. Most of the furnishings are left-over from the previous tenant, but she also enjoys to visit the flea market at the weekends and buying pretty things for little money. She's a little bit messy and her favourite colour is red.

Fasionista 125: Do I spot our lovely Heidy there ? Well here it goes. First of all I love the colors you used. The light blue are very calming and suit the kitchen very well. Second, the use of the light woods and the different textures on the cabinets and the computercorner are a nice touch that also give it variety that is very important. I liek the fact that you chose to take the chairs and give them two different colors, personally I think that if you made them really dark brown instead of black (if Im colorblind just say so ofcourse ;) ) that is would work even better. You made the room look grand because you chose to put not to much stuff in there and I think you did it wisely. The darker wood on the counters give the room a warm feel. I think you did a great job !

Kopfwurst: That is one hell of a great grungy kitchen ! Btw, love your pictures, the light in them is just stunning ! You have great eye for details and I just love love love the white thing (dont know what the name is lol) that devides the kitchen and living in 2. Its really amazing !

Everyone that participates in these challenges has such unique style. I can find something that I love in every single one of these rooms. You all are amazing. I'm a bit to lazy presently to go back and comment on them each individually presently.

I might have to get in on this one as well
